About the event

Retain, recruit, and reshape the future of midwifery.

Did you know?

  • Over 2,000 midwives left the NHS in the last year due to burnout and staffing issues (NMC, 2023).

  • Midwifery-led initiatives to improve staffing and retention increase workforce sustainability by 40% (NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan, 2023).

Workshop Overview: This workshop is designed for midwives who want to reshape the maternity workforce from within. By learning how to drive change, influence transformation projects, and advocate for better working conditions, you’ll be equipped with the tools to create a more sustainable workforce—one that supports midwives, improves retention, and enhances patient care.

Led by Gemma Poole and senior workforce planners, this session will explore practical strategies to reduce burnout, increase job satisfaction, and implement change at all levels of maternity services.
