Challenge #2: Tackling Racial Disparities
Racial disparities in maternal health are not just statistics—they are preventable tragedies. From pre-conception care to stillbirth rates and everything in between, women with Black or Brown skin face systemic barriers that put their lives at risk.
This challenge isn’t about just talking—it’s about creating actionable, impactful solutions that can transform maternity services and eliminate racial inequalities in care. Black women in the UK are almost four times more likely to die in childbirth than white women. Asian women are twice as likely. The disparities begin pre-conception and extend to postnatal care. We are tired of seeing stagnant action.
By joining this discussion, you will be part of a collective movement to change policies, influence healthcare design, and develop scalable interventions that ensure equitable maternity care for all.
